Trailhead Reconstruction

Trailhead Reconstruction

Description

The project addressed the overall condition of the trailhead at the Pomfret chapter of The National Audubon Society, which preserves 667 acres of land in Northeast Connecticut under the Bafflin Sanctuary including the removal of miscellaneous debris piles, painting a barn, woodchipping the vicinity to construct a picnic area with two picnic tables, as well as the erection of a large, wooden Kiosk at the entrance to the trailhead where the society now posts memos, news bulletins and maps at the entrance to the trails as they do at several of their other sanctuaries. There was also a need for a set of stairs leading down to the trails, making make accessibility much easier and safer.
