Survival Kits For Rough Nights
I organized the collection, organization and distribution of 2,050 survival kits for the homeless of Ohio. Quart sized zip lock bags were filled with toiletries including combs, cups, shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, razors and shaving cream, and wipes. Donations were received from local hotels, individuals, school and churches. My project was published in the News Herald Newspaper. Over $1,000 was donated to help the project. The bags were distributed to St. Augustine Hunger Center, West Side Catholic Center, St. Herman's House of Hospitality, the City Mission, East Side Catholic Center and Transitional Housing. Troop 293, Pack 293, and Pack 61 worked on the filling of the bags. Over two hundred hours were spent on this project.
