To warm, or not to warm - Scout Skit No. 974 of 676

Action

Beginning:
Leader with 3 scouts trailing him comes in and turns on lantern – scouts get closer warming hands, some with hands in pockets, leader hangs back.

All Scouts:
Comment casually about how nice it is to have a fire.

Scout #1:
“Hey – here’s a stick, I wonder what color flame it’ll make…” – reaches down to pick up a pretend stick and poke the fire.

3 Firemen:
They scurry in quickly (tipped-off by another person who can see both skit and background firemen) and spray scout and rush off-stage

Scouts continue casual talk

Scout #2:
“I think the fire needs more wood” – reaches behind and pretends to pick up a large stick to put on the fire

3 Firemen:
They scurry in quickly and spray scout and rush off-stage

Leader:
“Hey Joe, can you get the first aid kit? I think cut myself on this sharp rock” – pretends to be hurt in the hand.

Scout #3:
“I don’t know where the first aid kit is!” – puts up hands

3 Firemen:
They scurry in quickly and spray scout #3 and rush off-stage

Leader:
“OK guys, I need to put out the fire, can you hand me the water bucket?”

All Scouts:
"I don't see any water bucket!"

3 Firemen:
They scurry in quickly and spray Leader for an extended period of time, then rush off-stage

Equipment

1) Thick Sticks about 2’ long arranged in a tee-pee with a lantern inside;
2) Two plant spray bottles -or- two small childrens-sand-buckets and lots of blue confetti (need to refill between dowsings)
3) fireman hats/boots for 3 firemen
