The Dating Game
Host- “Welcome everyone to the Dating Game. Tonight our lovely bachelorette, Doleen (cub scout dresses as a girl) will choose one lucky bachelor. “Doleen” enjoys collecting Yugio cards, playing linebacker for the Sirens and building her upper body strength.
The question tonight folks…will Doleen pick bachelor #1, (Cole as the Cub Scout will rise and bow before the audience), bachelor #2 (Dustin as the businessman adjusts his glasses, straightens his tie and throws his shoulders back trying to look dignified), or bachelor #3 (Daniel acts too cool, brushes his hair back and gives the “hang loose” sign).
Host - Thank you! Now Doleen ask your questions to our eligible bachelors.
Doleen- Hello boys (acting all embarrassed)! My first question to all of you is if I were stranded on a desert island, how would you save me? I want to start with bachelor #2
Dustin: Well Ms. Doleen, if you were stranded on a desert island I would charter a plane to come pick you up- that is if I’m not in a meeting. You see I’m a very important man and my schedule is usually booked. But let me check my palm pilot …..(Dustin takes out his palm pilot and starts punching the dates) I can plan on having some time…YES, definitely. If you were stranded on a desert island, say, the third week in June, I would have some time to rescue you! (Dustin turns off his palm pilot looking very proud of himself)
Doleen acts very unimpressed and says, No thank you! Bachelor #3 can you do any better?
Daniel: Well, little lady, this must be your lucky day. To rescue you I would ride those wild waves onto your island on my trusty surfboard “Wild Rider”.
Doleen: waiting for more finally says, “But how would we get off the island? Would I surf off with you?”
Daniel- Hey baby, you can surf if you want but not on MY board. Nobody surf on the “Wild Rider.” The man and his board, you know, like it’s sacred! No man, to get off the island I was thinking of just letting you hold on by a rope or somethin’!
Doleen- very disgusted says, “Thanks but NO THANKS!” Bachelor #1??
Cole- Well ma’am, first of all, I would drop EVERYTHING (looking back to Dustin) and second of all I would NOT for one instant drag you in the water! (looking back at Daniel who just shrugs) While in Cub Scouts, I learned island survival skills. I also learned how to build a boat! Here take a look at what I had in mind. (Cole shows the example to the audience then the host takes it and shows it to Doleen who, of course, is very impressed)
Doleen- Well done Bachelor #1! Now here is my second question: If you had $100.00 to spend on me, how would you spend it? Bachelor #3?
Daniel- Like WOW man!!!! (Jumping off the chair) You’d be so stoked, baby! There is nothing you need more in your life than a good surfboard, and it never hurts to have a few cans of shark repellant! (holds up a fake can of shaving cream that has a circle with a shark crossed out)
Doleen- rather nervously says, O.K. Bachelor #2, how would you spend $100.00 on me?
Dustin- Well, Ms., first I would take out $50.00 and place it in a savings account where you would be earning interest. Next, I would lavish you with thee top of the line palm pilot with a built in calculator (shaking his head again, looking all proud of himself)!
Doleen- That’s it? You wouldn’t even take me out to dinner???
Dustin- Oh, yes I would. We would go to Mothers for dinner! (Saying “mothers” kind of slow and affectionate like)
Doleen- rather annoyed, Bachelor #1???
Cole- If I had $100.00, I would buy you ANYTHING YOU WANT! (cheers will go up in the audience)
Host- Great questions and a few good answers. Now, Doleen, you have time for just one more question.
Doleen- Bachelors, my last and most important question is this: what is your life’s motto?
Daniel- What’s a “motto” man? You mean like “What’s da motto with you? (laughing and getting a kick out of his joke, maybe punching Dustin then Dustin grabbing his shoulder painfully)
Doleen- No, No, No. Your motto is like your goals, how you want to live your life.
Daniel- I feel at this stage in our relationship, Doleen, I can open up to you and be honest, you know let you know how I really feel. (being very serious) And all I can say about this is …..“SURF’S UP BABY!!” Laughs again, takes out his comb and starts combing his hair and/or rubbing his surfboard with a towel.
Doleen- R-i-g-h-t O.K. let’s hear from bachelor #2
Dustin- Well, I’m glad you asked this question Doleen. Why just last week my boss wanted this same information. I formulated my life’s motto and installed it on my trusty palm-pilot. Just give me a second to pull it up (Dustin is punching on some key pads and growing flustered). Oh, my batteries are dead!! Dog-Gone-it, well I’ll give you my business card. (Narrators takes the business card) I’ll give you a call first thing next week and let you know my life’s motto (again, folding his arms looking very proud of himself).
Host hands the card to Doleen who immediately tosses it over “her” shoulder
Doleen- O.K. bachelor #1 What is your life’s motto?
Cole- standing up gives his Cub Scout pledge, strong and loud. (Cheering from the audience)
Doleen- Well, this is a very difficult decision because you each had such wonderful answers (all the while shaking head “NO” to the audience), but after careful thought, I choose bachelor #1!!!!!
Host - O.K. ladies and gentlemen. Let’s meet the bachelors Doleen did not pick. Bachelor #2 is Dustin ***** our businessman (Doleen shakes Dustin's hand too hard and hurts him). Let’s meet bachelor #3, Daniel ******, our surfing dude (As Doleen reaches his hand to shake at the last second Daniel wipes his hand across his head to fake her out-really playing the jerk). And our lovely and gracious Doleen, played by Dillan ****** has picked Cole ******, our cub scout!! Come on out Cole and meet Doleen! I’m Zachary *****, your host of the Dating Game!!!!
Good night everyone!! Thanks for watching The Dating Game (music…..?)
The skit ends as Doleen chases the cub scout around the chairs and finally the host and the boys blow the traditional kiss to the crowd as the "Dating Game" theme song plays in the background.
decorating a set, each bachelor dresses appropriately for their role as host, bachelorette (willing to dress as a girl), 3 bachelors -the star bachelor being the cub scout and the two losers a business man and surfer dude.
find the Dating Game theme music, make a Dating Game poster and have some kind of divider for the boys.
