Service Project Description

Coordinated with the Phoenix Children's Hospital to make Heart Shaped Pillows for Children who have undergone Open Heart Surgery. The Pillows are used by the child to hold over chest when they cough or sneeze after the surgery.
Obtained donations of money and materials to make the pillows, (Soft Flannel Fabric and Pillow Batting). Recruited help from people with sewing machines and sewing skills. Obtained facility to do the sewing. Troop members helped to stuff, sew closed and package pillows. Delivered pillows to PCH Child Life Specialist.
150 completed. These pillows where gone through within a two month period. They are always in need of them.
