Stairs and Trail
Service Project

Service Project Description

During one of my school's cross country meets I noticed the path being used by spectators, going up a extremely steep hill was muddy and full of roots. It was actually dangerous to walk on. My project consisted of building a set of stairs up the first half of the hill, creating a level path across the hill to another incline where a second set of stairs was built. I used railroad ties to line the path and dug the dirt so it was level, then lined the path with gravel. This helped greatly at the next meet and made climbing the hill much easier.
