Service Project Description
6 day nature art camp for inner city kids at a small nature perserve designed to improve park attendance as well as provide a fun learning enviroment for these children. This camp involved over $6,200 in donated materials and cash for scholarships as well as 1240 volunteer hours. This camp driven by a passion to return many good memories to a park that provided many as a child for this scout. This center now has overwhelming attendance at summer camps that before almost were cancelled due to numbers and also has been given a large grant due directly to this camp to be used in future summer camps. Advice to be taken from this project, do something you love, people 3 years after the project have ran into this scout and told him how much of an impact it had on their son or daughters life.
