Matt Goetzman was a prime example of an Eagle Scout. He could fill a room with enthusiasm, and that light was especially vibrant when it came to scouting. Growing up in the scouting program, from Tiger Cub to Eagle, Matt was an inspiration to others and truly lived his life according to the scout law. He served his troop and venture crew in leadership positions, helped others up the trail to Eagle, and was an honor camper in Order of the Arrow. He actively participated in camp outs, summer camps, canoe trips, ski trips, and other adventures, and despite suffering from the effects of cystic fibrosis, was never heard to complain. Matt lost his battle with CF just a few days before his high school graduation, but not before obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout, his lifelong goal. "The Eagle has landed."
