Bio / AccomplishmentsAt age 16, Niels became an Eagle having hiked some of the most brutal trails in the midwest under the direction of his scoutmaster Ernest Carpenter. A member of Troop 42 of Knollwood, Ohio (Tecumseh Council, Shawnee District) Niels made his pilgrimage to Cimmaron New Mexico in 1971. He was a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, was awarded "God and Country," and has both a Bronze on his Eagle badge. Much to his credit, Niels later became an adult Scout leader himself.
