Bio / AccomplishmentsMichael David Ammons son of Richard and Betty Ammons of Navarre was born in Selma, Alabama, on October 4 1973. He joined the Cub Scouts, Pack 44 of Fort Walton Beach in 1981. Michael moved and transfered to Pack 509 in 1983. In 1984 he erned his Arrow of Light and crossed over to Troop 509. Michael quickly went through the ranks of the Boy Scouts of America becoming Patrol Leader of the Black Panther Patrol. After six months, the Black Panther Patrol became one of the first patrols in Troop 509 to earn the Baden Powell Patrol Award. Michael then advanced to Life Scout and was voted to Senior Patrol Leader position which he held for a year and a half. During this time he lead his Troop to two summer camps earning the Top Troop Award and recognition in many Camporees and camping trips. During this time Michael was also elected into the Order of the Arrow and earned his Brotherhood. He has also served Den Chief of a Webelos Den and a Cub Scout Den of Pack 509. In 1988 Michael retired as a Life Scout for other school and community activities where he Lead his section in his High School Band, Awarded World Order of the Purple Heart for Leadership and Air Training Command leadership Award in AFJROTC. Lead his Rifle team to their first ever State Championship and was President of his Church Youth Group. In 1991, Michael returned to finish his requirements for his Eagle.
Michael is now Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 509 giving back what was givin to him by his Troop.
