Robert Holl, Eagle Scout

Year Earned2000

Bio / AccomplishmentsRobbie's EAGLE SCOUT project was the revitalization of the nature trail for the outdoor science studies at his former school, Marshall Middle School. It required clearing the path through the woods and laying mulch, and included the building of two new picnic benches and four bluebird houses which he constructed himself. Through the gracious generosity of local businesses, a Troop Leader and his grandfather, Robbie was able to obtain needed materials to complete this project. With the help of his fellow scouts, support of the adult leaders and teamwork, Robert could provide the school with a revitalized outdoor classroom for its students to enjoy and benefit from.

He and a fellow troop scout joined a group of National Capital Area Scouts in 1999 to participate in the High Adventure Camp at Philmont in New Mexico. In 1999 and 2000, independent of scouting, Robbie participated in the annual Shenandoah Classic MS-150 Bike Tour, sponsored by the Blue Ridge Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, as a biker, raising money for the research and support services for victims of Multiple Sclerosis. Through rain and shine, he toiled his way from start to finish, battling against the elements of wind and rain, and keeping focused and determined to keep his pledge, that of completing the trip to help those in need with MS. His reward was that of knowing he accomplished his goal for the benefit of others.

He is a senior in highschool and is looking forward to going to college in the fall.
