It is so easy...
| It is so easy for the leadership of a Troop, both adult and boy, to work with the easy scouts. You know them, well mannered, responsible, eager to learn and trouble free. But it is the other Scouts that are what Scouting is about. The ones that are a half step out of sync with the program and cause the grey hairs that many leaders grow and give our youth leaders fits. These boys are worth all the support and guidance possible. They can help you teach the youth leadership how to cope with hard situations and help develop the leadership they will need in later years. It is very rewarding to see these "out of step" scouts respond to the help and grow into mature Scouts. Try not to be tempted to take the easy way out and work with only the easy Scouts....the others need us more. |
