CommentMy boys come up with some great designs for their pinewood derby cars. But a lot of them don't look right given the long, skinny pinewood derby car block.
To solve this, we sometimes glue up additional pieces of wood to the sides or top of the wood block before they start shaping their cars. The results can be quite dramatic.
Just make sure that the extra pieces don't extend out past the wheels on the sides of the car, because then it's won't fit on some tracks!
