TitleGraphite Fastest on 2nd Run
CategorySpeed Tips
CommentWe kept track at a pinewood derby one night, watching how cars performed at each run after applying graphite.
The cars typically had their fasts runs on the 2nd or 3rd run after applying graphite.
The first run after applying graphite was the slowest. I assume this was because there was 'too much' graphite, and the first run shook the excess loose.
So at your next race, apply graphite and then either take a test run if you can, or atleast spin the wheels by hand a few times and tap the car to simulate that first run.
