TitleFast and Easy way to add weight to the car.

CategoryBuilding the Vehicle

Comment1.First place the car on the scale along with a small paper cup.

2.Add shotgun pellets to the cup until it comes up to the specified weight.

3. Drill holes in the bottom of the car and pour the pellets in to the holes. (a 3/4" forstner bit in a drill press works great but a portable electric drill will work fine)

4. Use a hot glue gun to cover the pellets and allow to cool before putting the car back on its wheels. (The weight of the paper cup is about the same as the added hot glue so the weight comes out just right.

PS. We collect all the cars a few days before the race and put the weight in the cars for the boys. This ensures uniformity of car weights and makes the whole job easier.
