Script

Leader: Fall in!
Everyone takes respective positions on Parade Grounds
Leader: Attention!
Everyone comes to an attention stance
Leader: Color Guard, Forward March!
Color Guard marches forward at a uniform pace with uniform steps starting with the left foot. They continue this until the next command is given.
Leader: Color Guard, Halt!
Color Guard steps until the left foot falls and then they come to a stop on the spot.
Leader: Prepare to Lower the Colors!
One person steps out of line to be the Pole Runner and the prepare the Flag Pole for lowering. The other two should remain at attention where they stopped.
Leader: Lower the Colors, Scout Hand Salute!
Everyone on parade grounds renders proper salute except the Pole Runner.(If music is played, the Pole Runner should wait until music begins to start lowering the flag)(If flag is at Half-Staff, the Pole Runner should quickly raise the flag to Full-Staff before lowering) Pole Runner then slowly lowers the flag. When the flag is in reach, one person drops their salute and steps out of line to grab the stripes end of the flag to ensure that it does not touch the ground. When flag is completely lowered, third person drops their salute and unclips the flag from the bottom up and they move to the side to fold the flag properly while Pole Runner secures the Flag Pole. When Pole Runner is finished securing the Flag Pole, he then moves over to support the middle of the flag to ensure that it does not touch the ground and to ensure that the flag is folded as tightly as possible. After the flag is folded the Color Guard return to line, facing the Flag Pole, with the flag bearer in the center.
Leader: Two!
This command should be given after flag is completely unclipped from the Flag Pole(If music is played the command should not be given until the music is finished and the flag is completely unclipped from the Flag Pole)
Leader: Color Guard, About Face!
Color Guard turns in a clockwise rotation to face the Leader in one swift movement
Leader: Color Guard, Forward March!
Color Guard once again marches forward at a uniform pace with uniform steps starting with the left foot until they are given the next command
Leader: Color Guard, Halt!
Color Guard marches until the left foot falls then they stop on the spot.
Leader: Present the colors to the ________!
Leader inserts the adults title in the underlined section and the flag bearer steps out of line to hand the flag to the adult then steps back into line
Leader: Color Guard, About Face!
Once again, the Color Guard turns in a clockwise direction in one swift movement to face the Flag Pole
Leader: At Ease
Everyone is allowed to return to an at-ease stance but not allowed to leave their place.

Equipment / Preparation

1 Standard American Flag raised to appropriate height
Four People in Complete Field Uniform
(One to be the Leader, other three are Color Guard)
Highest Ranking Adult Present in complete Field Uniform (Stands Behind Color Guard but does not move.)

CommentThis flag ceremony is most appropriate at Camp and should occur immediately preceding the evening meal. Begin 10 minutes before meal.
